During the "Great War" 1914 to 1918 Mighty Guns and the "Obus" or 3Shells", the ammunitions, were towed into the Front by long "transport trains" of Horses and Mules. In France the Artillery Guns were parked, firing together, wheel by wheel next to one another for over Thirty five Miles, and the Thunder of the Guns could actually be heard far away in England ! Thousands of Rounds of Ammunition Shells with Brass Cartridge were expended int hese battles, and the heaps of Shells and discarded Brass Cartridges , waiting to be re used and re charged, literred the French and Belgian Countryside for Miles. Down to this very day, the Heaps of Shells abandoned after the war are still found every year by Belgian and French Builders and farmers, , a testimony to the ferocity of that great conflict.
