Often seen wearing a Bomber Jacket and his famous Black Tank Beret, Known for his Arrogant but daring Esprit de Corps, Field Marshal Montgomery defeated German Field Marshal Erwin Rommel twice in his Career, once in the North Afrikan Desert, the other time in Normandie France in 1944.  Taking overall Copmmand during the initial days of the 1944 Ardennes German Assault in Belgium, after an initial American collapse, he came hurtling to the rescue with a Union Jack Flag drapped on the bonnet of his Staff car. After the War he became the English Chief of Army Staff.
