SPA VEB (Max Chevallier) Own the original Lead Masters and Moulds for the entire Ducal Range in 1/32 Scale. Some items sufferred badly during their time in New Zealand Australia, and require a new Mould that is serviceable. If Ducal is to "return" there must be demonstrated market Collectors Interest, and a substantial List of products wished as re issues from the wider Hobby base. We can ONLY go ahead with such a venture oif it is professionaly viable.
Ducal was rescued by Maxime Chevallier after spending years forgotten gathering dust in a New Zealand workshop. Arriving in a neglected shocking state, it has taken the Fabre Chevallier family over two years to sort into "shape" again and beging to positively identify all the myraid of pieces. The Photos shown are a fraction of Photos we have, of Jack and Thelm's Toy Soldier ranges, and we are still discovering a few more sometimes ! Please E mail us your wants for Ducal figures, the more we get, the more likely it can return. it is up to YOU the Collectors to decide.
The Figures shown here against a red cloth background, are Original Lead Jack and Thelma Duke "Display Masters". We have several Hundred or more, plus all the Production Master patterns. We identify the Regiments using books such as by G" Money Barnes and other very old out of print Military reference books and even (as jack did) by using very old Coloured Postcards. Scale size of the figures is 1/32. NB These shown here are NOT for sale. Thankyou for your understanding.
Ducal glossy Toy Soldier ranges featured a large number of Highlander Scottish Regiments, and their unique Regimental Tartan Patterns. Unfortuneately a lot of the paperwork was soaked by Salt Water during Cargo Shipping, so information on which Regiment is which, what is the Tartan? and what period of Historical Time they are from? is incomplete, or missing altogether. This has involved us at SPA VEB in a huge task to re identify (sometimes with counter productive input) the various types of Tartans and Flags etc featured in the enormous product collection. Shown here "ROYAL STEWART TARTAN".
Ducal Toy Glossy Bands and Marching Formations include Irish, Scottish British and Polish Marching Bands and Parades. Centre Photo "Scottish Black Watch of Canada".
Jack Duke during his Thirty plus years of making toy soldiers, also produced a lot of Private Commissions for Collectros. Featured here above, are the Polish Marching band set. Not all of jacks Commissions were allowed to be palced in his Mainstream Catalogue of Products, but some collectors did permit this, so we have today "some" knowledge of what these Commissions were. Others have, sadly, been "Lost to the sands of time" (and an "unexplained Fire" in Australia sometime after 2008......So what we have is ALL we have.
Featured in several frames in this Gallery are pages selected from the Ducal Colour Catalogue. However, even existing Colour catalogues that sometimes surface, are dated randomly, from widely differrent times of the production, hence it is not always possible at this time to discern every single piece ever created. However, the general overview is very full, and represents a very large, if not sadly totaly completed, view of the range jack and Thelma made.
