During the battle for the Cathar City of Albi in Occitane (Languedoc) , many Noble Knights came from their chateux across the Land to help in the battle against the Northern French Army and King and Queen, who had allied themselves to Frances jealous enemy England.

It was called the “Albigensian Crusade” and when it was over, the Royal House of Raymond De Toulouse was defeated, and the region then became part of what is now today Modern France. the South had never been up until that point, part of France, France was the Kingdom in the North before this time changed everything.

Maxime Jouhan Chevallier was born from survivors of the line of Toulouse, and as such is a distant relative of several important French families. the family surviving De Toulouse emigrated to Roumanie in around 1713, there are few of us left in France, the Southern Kingdom fell long ago……remember please this day
