Old Old Soldiers never Die

There is a very Old saying that says "Old Soldiers never Die, they just fade away".
Ever since the days of the Pharoahs of Egypt, Clay, Stone, Alabaster or Metal figures have been around, either as Art forms to decorate homes or palaces, or as game pieces or even Funerary Ornaments taken with ancient Kings or Queens to their Tombs.
Games have been around involving strategy for centuries, perhaps even longer. Games using Toy Soldiers are a more recent phenomena.
There are several "schools" within the Hobby of Toy Soldiers, the Wargamers, with their painted armies and interesting Multi faced Dice and rule books, and there are the Figure Modellers and Diorama Makers.
Though not striclty Toy Soldiers, I'd better mention too the large Scale Model Aeroplane and Military Vehicle Modellers too, whose creative works often grace many a set of toy or Model soldiers in a Diorama.
I was an Artists who, alas never had a Academic or Teaching Position. An enthusiastic Toy Soldier Collector and Model maker since i was young at School, I was encouraged by my Schoool Headmaster to continue in the Hobby, despite serious challenges at the time.
His Childhood Gift to me of Four of his very own wonderfuly painted ROSE Miniatures which he had on his school office shelf, was truly a great inspiration to me back at that time.
Life , unlike toy soldiers, alas does not arrive in nice neat shiny Gift boxes, and I was for some years unable to consistently continue being creative, only now, when I am alas an old man in his Sixties, have circumstances allowed me to remain settled in just one place for enoughyears to go back to my once Loved younger interests.
Finaly, I have realized the dream of that young man long ago, to be an Artists and to have ones very own Studio facility and creative workshop spaces.
Purchaseing several key Toy Figure Range Businesess, I have been very occuppied in recent years sorting, re organizing and in a lotof cases, repairing and replaceing, Mould tools and Masters to "make good again" certain toy soldier ranges, which were also once loved by many others of my age and station.
Todays Web Site launch, though in some ways modest, to others, is in fact a enormous Personal Victory. As somebody else once said "Do not despise the Day of Small things". From small seeds great Trees and Forests grow".
I am just one man, the face behind Studio Paris Art, a name greatly inspired from the time of my Mother living and training in Art in Paris. I inherited Artistic Skills from her, and have applied the skills to this Hobby which became, as I always for many years wished, a rewarding small Business in my older years.
It is my sincere, if time consumeing aim, to re launch many, if alas not all, of most of those marvelous Old but Gold Toy soldier ranges, and make them available again to collectors and Model makers around the world.
The Photos and items shown here on the site, (especially the table top product photo) shows approximately just One third of the several thousand toy soldier ranges and models which we have as part of our Catalogue. It is planned, world events allowing, to re issue the rest of the figurses we have on a Catalogue rotation. This will mean we will CHANGE the entire product catalogue during our time, THREE times. (Not More).
So please be aware, that in many cases (unless of course you make a special order) that once items are sold and "gone" they really are gone again. Work load constraints and tooling issues impact greatly upon what can be at one single time casted up, prepared and packaged for sale to clients.
Our Toy Soldiers come mainly to a scale of 54 mm or to say 1:32 scale respectively.
Though among the CLASSIC Range there are a number of larger scale metal figures also available.
Currently as I go to "Press" and finaly open the web site, there are approximately just over 700 differrent metal Model or "toy" standard toy soldiers in our current cataloguing.
These are being steadily increased....
Certain ranges, such as Studio Figurines and the former Chota Sahib ranges, DUCAL and the Music In Miniature range, have sad to say, sufferred rather badly under previous regimes of ownership, and during cargo shipment there have been a number of affairs involving Dishonesty, and not a small affair involving Commercial theft and Piracy by one of our own former retailers...theft related scandals....
Weve had a few unexpected setbacks, that is to be expected in any Business.
Our EMBARGO and BAN however, on selling or distributing our products in the UK (to retailers we will sell in the UK ONLY to private collectors on limited sized orders) ) remains in force, unless, and until, a certain rogue retailer in the west of England, (known in the business and online forums) repays to us the complete monies he has dishonestly stolen by way of stealing old mould tools and producing illegal Piracy patterns.
The toy soldier fraternity is generaly welcoming and friendly, but in todays modern age, times have changed, and along with this unwelcome "change" my personal attitudes towards certain institutions and industry "Players" have also commensurately somewhat changed.
